Split-Screen allows Side-by-Side Viewing of New and Current
Datasets
Split-screen view allows you to have access to other current
detailed datasets from Delorme, including natural color
satellite imagery and high-resolution aerial photos. As you
probably know, the USGS 7.5-minute (1:24,000-scale) topo
maps are on the average over 20 years old. The new 3-D
TopoQuads 2.0 engine allows you to use other more current
datasets alongside the quad maps in a split-screen
configuration. By viewing the new imagery synchronized with
the older quad data, you can easily identify new roads and
other map features in your area of interest. New datasets
include Sat10 and the DOQ Data Reader.

Copy Your Data to the Hard Drive
With 3-D TopoQuads 2.0, you can have access to your whole
collection of data CDs without having to swap the data disk
in and out of your CD drive. Simply copy all of the CDs to
your hard drive, and point the new engine to the archived
copy. You can copy the one CD you use most often, or copy
the whole collection to your hard drive and 3-D TopoQuads
Version 2.0 will view them as one seamless map data set.

Improved Draw Tools
Additional annotation features have been added including
rectangles, arcs, and splines. (ad link to screen caps
showing all three) DeLorme has also added a large list of
map symbols, or you can create your own symbols using the
XSym tools.

Shaded Relief
3-D TopoQuads uses the digital elevation model to create
artificial shadows, thereby adding depth and realism to the
map images. This shaded relief layer can be turned on and
off, looks great on both 2-D and 3-D maps, and can be used
with your 3-D TopoQuads data, or with any other DeLorme
topographic map.

Printing Options
Now print up to 11x17
color maps, or create
multi-page mural maps up to 3 sheets by 3 sheets. Take a
larger map with you on your next weekend hiking trip or
produce large poster-sized mural maps for the next
presentation.

Right-Mouse Functions
3-D TopoQuads 2.0 has added the most used functions to the
right button mouse click. When you click on the map with the
right button 3-D TopoQuads 2.0 will display a content
sensitive menu of short cuts. You quickly add a MapNote,
edit routes, or delete annotations to name a few.
(NOTE:
The USGS is updating very few of the paper topographic maps
each year, so it is not practical to re-issue or update the
3DTQ data discs. Instead, we are focusing our energies on
providing new, current data sources that users can view in
conjunction with the 3-D TopoQuads data, along with new
tools and functionality. If you need new map data take a
