Tour 4: Using the {Measurement Spike}
You can place the {Spike} on any available map by
placing the cursor over the location and pressing
F6, or press right-mouse-click then select {Set
Measurement Spike}.
The selected {Spike} location is shown on the
map:

The {Measurement Spike} Display:

shows the straight line distance from the
{Measurement Spike} to the cursor in both
Cartesian coordinates:
"(160, 11,585)"
showing the (East-West Distance, North-South
Distance) and as a Polar Distance and
Compass bearing:
(11,586 Feet @ 0.8°)
Select displayed units from Meters, Feet or Miles
by pressing the drop arrow at the {Spike Distance}
box’s right-hand side or by pressing F4 to cycle
through the available choices.

Using The {Spike} To Bookmark Locations
You can use the {Spike} as a bookmark too. Set
the {Spike} at the bookmark location. Now use the
'Search: Jump to {Measurement Spike}' option or
press Alt-K to re-center the {Spike} on the display.
If you need to accurately set the {Measurement
Spike} to a Lat/Lon or UTM coordinate, us the
'Options: Coordinate, System Options' menu selection
or press Alt-Y; then enter the desired {Spike}
location.
